Lastplak is a group of around nine painters with different backgrounds and diverse skills. Our goal is to paint, no matter what surface, size or location. Our work can be found all over the world, but our homebase is Rotterdam, so that's where most of our stuff can be seen. Ja toch!
Yesterday during Queensday here in Rotterdam we opened our little Lastplak shop on the Meent 133. A big thanks to the Dj's from Radio Lastplak and all who came and bought our new t-shirts. So the next time you are around the Meent come check out our shop, we also have prints, paintings and dolls for sale and we will be open till the 6th of June. Here some pictures of our little shop.
Ox-Alien just came back from Mexico where he hooked-up with Tiza in Mexico City to paint some stuff together. They painted a wall in Mexico City's Bario Latino and a 50 year old car for the exposition "Dia Del Disenador" at the 75º gallery. Here some pictures.
This saturday (24 april) we will open our temporary Lastplak Shop on Rotterdam's finest shopping street, the Meent. This shop is part of the Rot(t)terdam project organised by Roodkapje and will run untill june 6th. In the shop you will find all sorts of Lastplak goodies like t-shirts, screenprints, posters, small paintings, OX-dolls and more. Especially for this occasion we printed a limited amount of fresh new t-shirts, and of course we'll make a nice mural inside the shop. We'll also have a thing going on there during Koninginnedag (30 april), so come check us out at Meent 133 in Rotterdam, see you!
Last two weeks of march, part time Russian Oles got his share of motherland vibe. While constatly checking the quality of all different numbers of Baltika beer, he hooked up with the FF-crew from Saint Petersburg/Moscow and painted a nice big gym in Gatchina. Later that week they invited him to give a masterclass in Lastplakism at the Impress Dance School just of Nevski Prospekt. Many people showed up and had fun while watching little larves, ghosts and some bubble letters being painted. More pictures and clips will follow soon, for now a big thanks to Trun for arranging everything, spasiba!
For the opening of the "Spaced" exhibition in the Nutshuis in The Hague we did a live-painting session and had Dj Boortorrie and Dj Acab spinning some records. We were painting with the full crew, excluding Oles who was in St. Petersburg giving workshops to cool Russian kids, but including Cosh and Luuk Bode this time. Despite the opening was not visited by a lot of people, the beers went down well and we had good fun, here some pictures.
