Lastplak is a group of around nine painters with different backgrounds and diverse skills. Our goal is to paint, no matter what surface, size or location. Our work can be found all over the world, but our homebase is Rotterdam, so that's where most of our stuff can be seen. Ja toch!
Last saturday the crew was invited to paint at the “Techno Meets Dubstep” party in Club Eclipse here in Rotterdam. We were right on the main stage together with the guys from Rockfour and some other friends and of course not to forget Jan and Sybille from Belgium. We all had a great night painting and drinking, here some pictures.
Yesterday it was Queensday in Holland and we were asked by Venour to come and paint at Oranjebitter, an outdoor festival in the middle of Rotterdam. There were orange and black Edding markers and enough white canvases to draw on. In the end we sold the canvases for more beer!
Last weekend was the 5th time we painted at de Wereld van Witte de With Festival here in Rotterdam. This time we painted two days in front of a new cafe called De Zondebok & 't Zwarte Schaap (a name that suits us perfectly!). Guest painters were Ged, Daan Markus & Oase.
Yesterday Ox-Alien went to Amsterdam to paint at the Paint & Beer festival and hooked up with Fake and Mickey. Painting and drinking beer a great combination!
Just like last year, some brave Lastplakkers attended the anual Zwarte Cross. Hollands biggest festival (147.000 people), organised around motor racing, beer, tante Rikie, and music. Lastplak was asked to paint wherever we wanted as long as we stayed on the gezeilde zwarte hekken. Needless to say we had too much fun and even invented our own drink; the Lastplakker. The results of wich you can see in the pictures below. Thank you tante Rikie, thank you Feestfabriek and see you next year, yeah!
After a 3 hour journey Sterf, Pinwin, Das Boat and sidekick Ged reached the great capital of Horst with a small detour along Venlo, to do some "live painting" at festival Alcatrazz. They builded a wooden wall for us near a cabin build out of pallets for the Dj's. The sun was burning like hell so we had to cool down with BEER, the local press bored us again with stupid questions:"Is this graffiti?" & "you do this often?" but we had a great time. Here some pictures.
