Lastplak is a group of around nine painters with different backgrounds and diverse skills. Our goal is to paint, no matter what surface, size or location. Our work can be found all over the world, but our homebase is Rotterdam, so that's where most of our stuff can be seen. Ja toch!
For the Hildegardis school in Rotterdam North we did a workshop last week, the kids had to make a drawing inspired by Lastplak. We took the 12 best drawings and sketch them on a long fence next to the school. During the workshop the kids could fill in the characters and in the end we outlined them.
Yesterday Ox-Alien, Ces53, Boortorrie & Pinwin went down to the abandoned village Doel in Belgium. It's heaven for painters and photographers, here a small impression.
For the Kunstmarkt we painted a wall behind the Lantaren/Venster on the Gouvernestraat in Rotterdam. We also doing some workshops for this project, more info click HERE.
Oles & Ox-Alien just came back from a few days Berlin where they hooked up with Tietenmonster and Onio & Lelo from Brasil. The doner kebabs with beers went down well and the weather was supertoll! Of course we also painted a wall, together with the boys from Brasil, Manfret from Berlin and Wen from Paris. Here some pictures, tschuss!
Last sunday we organized a graffiti jam in the south of Rotterdam. An almost totally deserted neighborhood called Smeetsland was our canvas for the day. We announced our jam a day before to the local police, and it was fine. Despite of the cloudy weather quite a few people showed up to paint, also a few Brazilian artists who are in Rotterdam to paint a few big murals for the R.U.A project (more info about this project click HERE).
This afternoon some of us were lucky to visit the P-Funk Grandmaster George Clinton Parliament Funkadelic Masterclass at the World Music and Dance Centre, Rotterdam. One hour of Question / Answer and a nice jamsession with WMDC students. Afterwards we offered him a painting and feeling like visiting Sinterklaas we took some pictures and offcourse got the musicians to sign my precious Parliament albums. Tonight they perform at the WATT.
